Personally, I understand why you only want one complete final release, AFTER beta testing. However I hope you realize that no matter how thorough you test it, once it is released people ARE going to find errors. There is no way you are going to release only one version with no errors. Now forgive me if what I am saying here is inaccurate to what you actually are planning to do, this is just what I gather from your posts. I am not trying to be critical, and I applaud your work so far. I just believe you should realize that releasing a fully translated game without beta testing will actually make the work faster, and easier on you. Everyone would benefit.
Obviously it is up to you, but I think you are a little to adamant on releasing it the way you want, and not thinking about these other possibilities.
Anyways, I look forward to the release, and once again, awesome job so far!

haha.. yup.. being young i guess its natural to be a jerk and being impatient. pass the time by playing call of duty or something lol quit waiting so much. when its out its out. any1 play Heroes of Neherth in here?
I don’t know how things got so out of control, but I suppose it’s my fault for not removing problematic posts when they first cropped up. In any case, let’s all chill out a bit. We all want the same thing – a quality patch as soon as possible. So unless you are me (in which case almost every free moment goes to ToI in some way), you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
There will be a closed beta. The end. If you think that a beta won’t improve the quality of the patch, well, you’re wrong. Just one playthrough of the patch has already allowed me to make countless improvements to it and those are just the things that I caught. Beta testers will see things that I’m reading right past. It is an essential part of the process and every bit as important as the translating and hacking. So while I understand that people want the patch sooner rather than later, the beta isn’t negotiable. Sorry.
In conclusion, please don’t make me delete a bunch of comments. That’s such a pain.

If I were them and I had put sweat and tears on such a project, it would be in my preference to release it with all the beta testing only because it would be my project or my teams project, it wouldnt matter about what would be easier really. lol get wat im saying? i think there is some pride in this work.They are doing it the way they want haha what your saying is cool too but im pretty sure they know whats best and if i were them the way they are doing it is good enough. It is their project and they are doing it as they see fit. Wouldn’t matter if we find errors and what not and i could imagine why they would only want to release it ONCE and not have to worry about it ever again, bottom line is that it is going to be fun and very worth the wait and all work done would be greatly appreciated.
Now that right there is something benificial to everyone :p
are you taking up registrations for beta testers later on or do you already got them if not good luck on the testing

Anyways (assuming you were addressing me), sorry I re-read my post and I was not entirely clear. I never meant to say that beta would not be beneficial, I merely wanted to point out that it would be easier for you guys to release it open beta and the beta would take place more quickly.
Anyways I obviously have no authority regarding this in any way, so I don’t mean to sound like I’m pushing for a change. I just wanted to inform.
I respect your decisions, and I look forward to release regardless of circumstance! Thanks for your work!

It wasn’t directed just at you, Clorina. I’m just not a fan of the open beta structure since most people play the game and never come back or provide any feedback. I want to leave people with a powerful impression of the patch, so releasing what I consider to be an incomplete version wouldn’t satisfy me. And after spending so much time on this project, I don’t want to release anything but my very best. Thankfully, we’re almost there. I’m not promising that a mistake or two won’t slip through, but we’re all doing our best to provide an authentic localization for all of you.
Can you update the percentages again anytime soon? Just wondering.

But if i did not recall wrongly, you typed something saying that the translation will be finished by January and “no, it wont be on the first week”.
That is, if i did not recall wrongly.
I might have said it would be done some time early this year, but I can’t imagine I would have said January. If I did, I must have temporarily lost my mind.
I plan to update the percentages in a few days. Maybe this coming weekend. If you want a preview, just arbitrarily add a few percentage points to the incomplete categories. That’s what I do anyway. *Laughs*
So you update the precentages every 10-15 days???
Last time I visited this page is like 2-3 months ago… Guess i’ll just gonna have to wait some more. so i’ll be back in another month or two.

SO, guys. What are you playing right now?
im finishing up Sands of Destruction while getting distracted by Final Fantasy Tactics A2. After Sands, im moving on to Glory of Heracles. On my wii, i have Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, i already unlocked all characters. I also have both No More Heroes waiting for me to play. I have a lot on my plate in terms of games, plus school just started back up.
Im playing Tales of Symphonia knight of ratatosk.. unbubbed lol
@iggloovortex.. Im also playing sands of destruction.. undubbed again lol.. kinda stopped though.. gameplay is kinda weird, its like action rpg combined with jrpg

Yeah I played Sands of Destruction;
I did not hate it, but I did not exactly like it either; It felt wierd
something I know I hated for sure was the cutscenes, there was like 3 hours of wait time between each lines of voice acting (I wish we could press a button to ‘read the next line’)
and the Combats are either too easy (you know what you’re doing) or they can be hard(you place your skills anywhere without even caring)
well hard…I should say ‘not easy as easy can be’ XD

I just finished Sands a week ago, it’s a good game, but the voice acting leaves something to be desired, the ending was nothing special, too.
Now? I’m playing Shining Force III – Scenarios 1+2+3+PD for Saturn, it’s already full translated and I’m having a blast, the game is the best Tactical RPG I ever played, on par ( or even better ) with Final Fantasy Tactics. You guys should give it a shot.
After this I’m moving on to Tales of Innocence … if the patch is released by then, of course x3

wat is the emulator u use for saturn?
I have a modded Saturn, so I can play burned isos there but … before that, I used SSF ( the last is SSF 0.11 alpha R2 ), and it was pretty good. 100% speed, minor graphic bugs ( almost unnoticeable ).

@Tetrahedron: They do not need anymore beta testers, read some ways back in this whole forum and you wil see it for yourself, just trying to save you from humiliation and or throughhim saying something so dont take offense just take my advice and dont ask.

They don’t need any more beta testers because they probably make their friends beta test.
Hey, sorry about all the selfish people here, throughhim413. I am thoroughly excited for this, and I personally think a closed beta is a good idea! Don’t overwork yourself, and keep up the AMAZING work. I am majoring in computer science, and even I would have a tough time doing this. I commend you for your awesomeness!

Right now im playing Tales of Symphonia Knight of Ratatosk undubbed, the game is pretty awesome, its just the undubbed version isnt perfect. For example there are a few crashes, and the skits are off, sometimes way off.. its still playable but yeah.. it gets annoying
So i was wondering.. if its not too much to ask.. that after you finish the current Tales of Innocence project and any other projects youre planning to finish, you could look into editing the skits for this undub version of the game
Im not ordering you to do it.. just a humble request. If for any reason you cant, then dw, you can just forget about it.

Sarah’s computer is broken. That has made it difficult (read: impossible) for her to proof. Once she gets her new one in, I have the utmost confidence that she’ll work through them quickly.
