Bug Report

Postby zrike » Thu Jul 08, 2010 6:22 pm

Hi,
I'm playing the patch, and I'm at sania village in the story.
Ive got every recipe till this point, except the two in the tower, and I'm going around collecting the special recipes.
My problem is, after I collect a recipe, if I get into a battle the game will freeze. If I save and reboot, its fixed until I get the next recipe, so its not game breaking, but it is extremely annoying.

Awesome translation though, I'm really lovin this game.

Thanks for reporting that. Is there any chance that you have a game save from before you had collected the Fabled Recipes? Also, just for a bit more detail, did you do anything between the end of the event that gave you the recipe and the battle that caused the crash (i.e. Did you use the recipe to learn it? Did you cook the recipe? Did you eat it?)? Also, what flashcart or emulator are you using to play the game?

Thanks for any more information you can provide.

Yeah I do, slot one is outside mamut before triggering the first skit, and slot 2 is after I finished collecting all of them. I'll upload it somewhere shortly.

As for what I did, I just talked to the person with the recipe and received it.
I first found out when I had gotten to Galpos jungle, I ended up fighting a battle by accident on my way out. Since then, I tested it with the drill instructer and Heartman, and both times, if i fought a battle before saving and resetting, it would freeze.

Also, for reference, I use an acekard2 with AKAIO 1.7

p.s. Oh, and I haven't used any cheats except for the bear claw gald glitch

Okay, that save sounds like it will be perfect for testing. Thanks for the information.

Just wanted to thank you again for the save. It worked perfectly and the problem will be fixed when we release an updated patch. It would've taken me at least 20 hours to create a similar save myself, so I certainly appreciate the time you saved me.

Alright, this here is a weird error. And I'm pretty sure it's only happening to me.

After getting to... the snowy city (can't remember the name), the party heads for the... snowy memory place (still can't remember the name. Being old sucks). Then Ange starts to have yet another flashback of Himmel and Orifiel.

Thing is, when Himmel delivers the second line of the scene ("It would appear our hardheaded elders still have yet to realize how essential that is, Orifiel"), the game freezes in a certain point of the line's audio.

At first I just thought that it could be a bad rom problem, so I got another rom, re-downloaded the patch, and... same error.

Then I tried with the game unpatched. And it works perfectly.

So my conclusion was that it was my flashcard's fault (after all, this is a plot scene, and there are already people who finished the game with the patch). This also doesn't necessarily makes the game unwinnable - as long as I skip that line, especifically, the game proceeds normally.

I wonder if that happens to anyone else...?

First of all thanks for the translation! > < I really appretiate your work and love it for sure! Really thanks!

It's not really a bug I found, but a wrong translation. I found it in Naos, the second scene with Hartman, where the group's in his house and talk about the Fall... Hartman says "But the damage was already done. Ill rumors began to spread not long after.". That doesn't really make sense, right? ^^' So I just wanted to report it, cuz of perfection for the good game |3 hehe.

I hope it helps.

That line makes sense to me as-is. "Ill rumors" might be a bit awkward, but I don't believe it's wrong. But if other people think it's weird, let me know.
