Learning all skills?

Postby BassForever » Sat Jul 31, 2010 1:33 pm

I played the demo a bit further up to the point where you got the option to upgrade your weapon. I noticed that the three options are "battle skills and stats", "support skills and stats" and "battle and support skills". Is it possible to eventually go back and get whichever you didn't pick (such as support skills if you picked battle skills and stats)?

It's impossible to get all of the skills in Tales of Hearts. It allows for a lot of customization, but it doesn't allow for players to create a "perfect" character that can do everything.

Thanks Thoughim413. I'd ask "what are your opinion/s on the best way to grow soma" but considering this patch won't be made for awhile I'll just wait for the inevitable flood of info when it's done.

I'm honestly not the best person to ask. I was rather haphazard about the way I grew my Soma. I went for a balanced build so I could get as many of the skills and Artes as possible, but that isn't necessarily the best way to do it.

personally, i alternated between blue and green. this ensures that you get all* of the battle skills (artes) and most of the support skills, as well as not having overly miserable stats. there's a bit of overlap so that you don't miss out on TOO much as long as you don't pick the same color twice in a row for any given character. for example, for the most part, xing gets four artes per soma evolve. there's (a) one he'll get no matter what, (b) one he'll permanently miss if you don't pick Battle Skills for the current evolve, and (c) two that he'll get as long as you don't miss Battle Skills twice in a row. unfortunately, there are some rather nice artes that fall into category (b)...

* you can't actually get all artes or support skills, because the final soma evolve forces you to choose between two different forms that each have a different arte and different support skill.

Cant you change that (not being able to get all artes and skills) on the patch?

I guess that helps to promote playing the game multiple times. I guess I'll just have to make multiple saves or something to try out all the various artes.

Even if it were possible to make every skill available in-game, it would be such a massive change that the entire game would have to be rebalanced. It doesn't make sense for a fan translation to make a change like that.

But the stat system is same as Innocence? All characters have the same stats but can be improved by equipament and styles, in this case soma build?

So, if I want Hisui with ranged attack he can be good at healing too?
