About

History

Absolute Zero started in August 2006. It was originally just my personal blog, but it quickly became the home of the Tales of Phantasia text translation. Completed in April 2007, the text translation was an overly-ambitious project by a student of the Japanese language who wanted to expand his horizons. During the summer, I met Gemini on romhacking.net. Our first project was the unreleased English retranslation of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. From that project, we discussed our next project and decided on Tales of Phantasia PSX, which would become Absolute Zero’s first real project. It began in late August 2007 and wrapped up for a Christmas release that same year. Several months later, Cless and I secretly began working on the Tales of Destiny: Director’s Cut as a joint project between Absolute Zero and Phantasian Productions. On July 9th, 2008, Kingcom contacted me on the romhacking.net forums and we began work on Tales of Innocence for the Nintendo DS. The Tales of Destiny project would later be announced on January 1st, 2009. Both Tales of Innocence and Tales of Destiny are currently ongoing. In late January 2009, I made the decision to switch from Absolute Zero’s original blog to the current site at AbsoluteZeroTranslations.com.
