Some sad news for those hoping for a Tales of Hearts translation.
My mic sucks. I’m sorry about that. I’ll get a better one for next time.

NIce Job dude
No surprise… I knew there wouldn’t be anyone working on Hearts until B-N confirms or denies us a release… I’m gonna’ spam their customer complaint line with hate-mail if they deny it to us though…
Sorry to hear about Hearts. But yea, let’s face it; if we keep having you or any other translators working on games, the companies will never get off their behinds and try to localize the game. I mean, you’re right, you’re not an entire localization company; we can’t expect you to dub the voices, bring out all the accents and everything. You’re working hard to bring a translation that carries some of the soul of the game (the way the characters speak, the naming conventions and mythology used), and we appreciate that. I for one think it’s rather petty to continuously badger a hard working individual while remaining in the comfort of my chair, not having to lift a finger and getting an amazing game patched and ready to play. I’m grateful. And I’m sure, positive, that everyone else will shape up to be grateful too when the time comes. Thanks again for all the hard work throughhim413.
Kind of like the video updates, and that sucks about hearts D=
Guess i’ll keep hoping Nandai does it, or someone else picks it up, lol.
Still, I love how this project is shaping up ^-^
These default avatars are lovely. Did you draw them yourself?
Thanks for the new vid Throughhim. Great to see some scenes in action and hear you talk about your choices.
Indeed sad to hear about Hearts, especially the reasons. I understand that you’d rather (or feel the need to) dub the game, but the other reason, that people’d cry like little girls at all the naming choices you make, makes me sad. You really feel like you’ll disappoint them, or do you just not want to stir up anything?
Sad to hear about Hearts. Stupid little whiners… If everything isn’t exactly like the Japanese version, they go crazy.
Oh, and you spelled the word “brethren” wrong in the dialog box at minute 4:20. Unless that was intentional…
sad
Oh well, I wasn’t expecting you to translate it. I was kinda hoping you would though. But I think if you were to state from the beginning what the names were going to be, people would (maybe after a while) stop complaining. But anyway, another great video, thanks. I look forward to playing it! Once again, you have my sincerest thanks for this wonderful gift you are giving to us all. Good luck and enjoy
As long as they make TOI worth the wait then it’s fine…He gave us his word, that’s enough for me…
can’t wait
Well your next project is working with Phantasian productions on Tales of Destiny: Directors cut so that is already planned but do you have any idea what you are going to be working on in the years to come? I doubt you are going to do Tempest as it isn’t really worth it as it has had a lot of negative feedback so maybe Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 if there is going to be no sign of a US release in a couple of years?
I was sad when I read the title of this post bur your sexy voice made it all better ;D
Anyways, looking forward to play your patch, all my friends here in Rio already think you’re a hero auhahauhauahuah (one of them said “Hey man, they should make a Tales of throughhim!”)
Congratulations on your awesome work, you being a perfectionist only makes me want to play this even more.
I’ll be sure to keep an eye on this and all your future projects. o/
I don’t post much, but I’ve been watching for majority of the year. I remember when I first came here, thinking to myself how this’ll be just another fan-translation that’ll be discontinued at 20%. But you’ve really surprised me. Thank you, all of you, for all of your hard work! I cannot wait to enjoy this game!
You do have a sexy voice! XD
*__* yay finally! a new vid! *jumps*
I’m looking every day on this side if there are some uptades or blog entries xD and yet yaaay finally!! *__* i know i haven’t seen much yet but to me it looks perfect! just perfect!! >//__> and then I need a stupid walktrough with the dialouge, so I’m playing this and I must read in the same moment the translation. .__. that really sucks to watch from the DS to the Computer.
To Tales of Hearts, well not good news, but I don’t care xD I just want to have ToI! =w=~ other things can wait! I’m not really sad about it D: I’m happy about this translation x3 ~ that’s enough.
Keep on >w<v~ and YEAH! XD you really have a sexy voice hrhrhr =w=~ would like to see moar vids *__*~~
@shadow2bolt: I hardly know what I’m going to be doing in the next few weeks and you want to know what I’m planning for coming YEARS? *Laughs* I have no idea.
SRy ma post was cut in the middle x.x dunno why

I really can’t wait to play the game with your translation! It really sucks to play it in japenese, I only understand some Hiragana symbols and a bit from the language. and then I need a stupid walktrough with the dialouge, so I’m playing this and I must read in the same moment the translation. .__. that really sucks to watch from the DS to the Computer.

I know you guys might already know how to use the Mystic Artes but the Tales series wikipedia site gives a full rundown on every arte for every title.
For fan and translator use:
http://aselia.wikia.com/wiki/ToI_-_Ruca_Milda:_Artes
That page is only for Luca’s artes, but at the bottom there are links for Iria, Spada, Ricardo, Angie, and Hermana.
I’ve been done with the Artes for ages, so I don’t know why you think that would be of any use to me.
amazaing project !
AMAZAING INDEED!
i thought you cancelled the progect lol
Quick little something, since you seem to be aiming for perfection (or as close as you can get) with this translation: the ellipses look a little off.
Don’t want to step on your toes, but do you think it would be a better idea to use a slightly larger (or different) font for them so they don’t look “raised” the way they do now?
Great work otherwise. Looking forward to finally being able to play this.
Hm… I’m not really sure what you mean. I’ve never had any problem with the way that the period or ellipses look.
your mic sounds fine and i read in Nintendo Power a few months ago they were announcing they’re gonna translate Tales of Hearts so… yeah.
Sorry about that, it seems my information came a little late to help… But I posted that link for an arte and weapon guide, not just for the translators but also for the fans to use when the time comes…
Nice job!
Sorry for posting this again, but I just want to get this out there so this project is perfect.
At minute 4:20, the word “brethren” is spelled wrong. Just wanna make sure this is as good as it can be, throughhim!
I corrected it after it was posted the first time… and then I went and spell-checked the rest of the files too. So unless issues are introduced in the editing process, we should be good.
Throughhim413,
Thanks for the videos, it seems like a good idea for the updates. I certainly understand your reasoning on not doing Tales of Hearts but I was wondering if you would ever consider doing a partial patch that translated arts, items, menu etc for games like that or Tempest since hopefully there would be a lot of crossover with names you translated from Innocence.
Also I was wondering about your screename, I’m guessing its a Bible verse but which book of the Bible?
I’m new here, but really looking forward to th patch – ToI looks great and you guys are doing fantastic work
pastry pirate – I’m guessing it’s Phillipians (Phil 4:13 – I can do all things through him who gives me strength) but thats just based on the rest of throughhim413′s handle.
sweeeet. i got a mention. and i only speak the truth. even the way you say ‘sexy’ is quite sexy. can’t wait for the next youtube-cast.
hmm….are u leading on that southern people are ”uneducated” :O!!! meh dont really care. looking forward to innocence
SHAZAM!
@Zaane: I hope it didn’t come off like that… I was saying that Hermana sounded uneducated, but that wasn’t because of her accent, but because she is actually uneducated. I don’t think that a southern accent sounds uneducated, so I hope that’s not the impression that people got… My goal was to say the opposite. Like “Don’t take offense if she sounds uneducated.”
Hmm… Sad to hear about Hearts, but you are already doing a great job translating innocence, asking more than that would be a little too much XD.
Oh yeah, and you often mention people that complained about the “Luca” choice… But who are these people 0_o”!? I mean, if they are that fannatic about localization of names, wouldn`t they know even a little bit about katakana and stuff? Even I (who don`t know almost nothing about japanese) know that Luca is probably the correct name of the character…
Actually…Luca and Ruca are both correct. Since, As Throughhim said, Japanese pronounce L and R’s the same.
I personally prefer calling him Ruca, And even seeing an L at the front of his name while playing, Wont change that. I’ll still be thinking of him AS Ruca. Mostly…I like the way it sounds in the English language better, xD That’s about the extent of my reasoning though. Like in One Piece, Everyone calls him Zoro, I call him Zolo, Lol. =P
It seems rather stupid to argue about such a matter though, In the end. People will call them whatever they want to.
And as for the southern accent thing, I LOL’d that someone actually got that out of what you said =P
lol na i was just bored and wanted to give a little life to the board and yeah im well aware of what u ment
dont worry about it xD (thats what i ment by the ”meh dont really care” bit
)
I honestly don’t see why they make such a fuss over names… To quote Shakespeare, “A rose by any other name is still a rose…” It wouldn’t surprise me if/when they released Radiant Mythology 2 or Tales of Vs. to the US and have his name as Luca or Lucas… Shing’s name probably won’t remain as Shing once brought over…
To all those name purists, do we pronounce his name Roido Arvingu here in the States? How about Seneru Curidgu? Ruku von Vabre? The answer is no, why is that? Because for our convenience the names were translated into relatively easily understood names that we Americans can actually pronounce. Complicated names that are left in Romanji take away from the story by having us trying to figure out what the hell the name is rather than playing the game…
In conclusion I say, who really gives a damn what the name is?! It’s a name! My old man used to say “don’t sweat the small stuff”, this falls under the “small stuff” category.
Unfortunately, the majority of people who post are obsessed purists who only know to complain, yet they are not the actual majority of the average gamer looking for a localized experience that you’d offer us in TOH.
It’s hard to hear the quiet masses under the cries of a few people.
I hope you do consider translating it one day for people, but if not, no biggy.
I just want to play it in english.
For me, I couldn’t give a damn about what the name is. It could be Luca, Ruca, Lucas, Willian, Robin Hood or Carebear, that I wouldn’t care.
i dont care about the names at all, I Just wanna play the games localized.
@Bob
Amen to that brother
Altough you spelled most of the names wrong =x
just wondering … isnt there a “name change” option, like in the maiority of the Tales titles?
”Carebear were counting on u to take out these enemies” <- orly?
tho i have to admit robin hood would be worse than carebear lol
I did? I could sear that’s how their names are spelled in Romanji… Oh well, been a while since I looked at their Wikipedia pages… I would’ve included Yuri Lowell’s name in those listed, but Tales of Vesperia was developed for the American audience and as I heard it was released in America first.
No worries dude, your efforts are enough to make A LOT of us happy.
btw, someone’s already taking a step towards ToH english translation (although I’m not demanding for it):
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=169243
from what ive gathered the menu’s are the hell and they are 90% done with it what seems hard to me tho is the script and(specially to the tales series) the Skits. ah tales of symphonia skits…i miss u so….
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=169243
Someones translating it now.
