At long last, a new video has arrived!
Kingcom and I are both getting back into full gear on Tales of Innocence and to celebrate the event, we decided to post up a new video. This video shows off most of the menu content and layout. You’ve seen it before in screenshots, but we hope that this video will really give you a sense of what you can expect when you play our patch. As always, please keep in mind that the translations seen here are not yet final. I’m fully aware that there are still some awkward descriptions and names in there. I’m totally open to suggestions and corrections, so don’t hesitate to share your thoughts.
Big thanks to everyone who has continued to support us and cheer us on! This project is bigger (and longer!) than I ever expected it to be, but thanks to everyone out there, it has never stopped being fun. We’re working our hardest to make sure that we can provide you with the absolute best experience possible as soon as we can. Until next time!
Looks great throughhim! Few thinks though;
- Will the gels have percentages next to them in stead of ‘Restores some hp’?
- ‘Restore HP yourself’-stratagy could be ‘Restore your own HP’ perhaps
- ‘Focus on attacking’-statagy, is that melee or spells too? Perhaps clearify in the name
- Will ‘Hi-Ogi’ change when you toggle the naming convention?
- ‘Spell/Blow resistor’ indeed sound a bit awkward. Perhaps ‘Spell defender’ sounds a bit better. But it’s not really an acurate description
- ‘Friends forever’ also sounds kinda… you know… carebears…
- ‘Engage camara’ could be ‘Camara pan’ or ‘camara mode’
- ‘Target distanct enemies’ shouldn’t that be ‘attack distant enemies’?
Much love for the naming convention option!
The menu looks amazing! Keep up the good work
so s-t-u-n-n-i-n-g…
You know what? You’re absolutely GREAT.
@Crowmeister:
The gels didn’t have percentages in the Japanese text, but that isn’t to say we couldn’t add them.
Restore your own HP does sound better.
The game doesn’t specify the type of attacks, but my guide says normal attacks and skills. I’ve changed the description to “Prioritize physical attacks” for the time being.
Yes, Hi-Ogi becomes Mystic Arte depending on the naming setting.
Friends Forever was intended to be a bit cheesy. We also don’t have much space to work with on that screen, so I think Friends Forever works fairly well, all things considered.
Yeah, Camera Pan and Attack distant enemies work better. Good suggestions.
this is awesome O_O !! and 3 people did this… Rawrahaha this is great the menu is coming along fine XD to all the team i hope for the best ^^ and many thanks that you are doing this for everyone too
with regard to Crowmeister suggestion
” ‘Spell/Blow resistor’ indeed sound a bit awkward. Perhaps ‘Spell defender’ sounds” maybe resistance would be a better choice? so its spell/blow resistance ?
anyway nice job on the translation, keep up the good work
T_T keep the good work guys
Awesome. It looks amazing!
Awesome! This supporter can wait until Summer. Glad this is fun!
P.S: AKA Tasty Tasty looks like a glorified sundae I’d call Super Deluxe Sundae. Or is it a parfait?
Mmmm… parfaits.
_O_ Fabulous! Amazing! Stunning!
And now: is it me or is it running quite slowly. When I see that moving menu arrow (I know, I am not making myself very clear)I noticed that it moves quite slowly. Is that part of the game or part of the device which you used to play this video?
Keep up the great work guys, well impressed to date.
Any lag was caused by recording the emulator and doesn’t exist when running the patch on the real hardware.
you guys are so awesome, game publishers are going to so envious and pissed at the same time, and Thx for the update, why should anybody complain about anything, the translation looks awesome.
AKA TastyTasty = epic win.
I’m hungry for some some AKA TastyTasty
wow *speechless*
Great work XD I want izzzzz!
Your awesome-ness never ceases to amaze me. I’m looking forward to playing this. Good- no, GREAT job!
‘Restores some hp’ is much better than ‘restores your own hp’, that’s just plain bad English
Percentages would be better, but the first option is still better than the later.
anyway! keep up the good work, looks fantastic!
@Pioggia:
You’re mixing up two different translation tips-
“Restore your own HP” was in response to the “Restore HP yourself” strategy, not to the gummi description.
This is wonderful! I can’t wait! Finally got the means to play this when it comes out, and I’m more excited than ever. I’m just excited that a translation project is finally coming through on such a wonderful game!
so far so awesome!
just one thing, where’s the nihongo naming options? lol….
yeah, it could be better if you insert how many % every gel recovers if you can, cos all other Tales titles do display them.
Ore, for hitotsu, will futatsu sono Nihongo naming option. To even consider not including it is zettai ni yurusenai koto.
Also, a “resistor” is an element in an electric circuit. You may have meant “resister”
Astounding job!!! i cannot wait until summer!!!
cheers from Spain!
Woah, I can’t wait till its complete.
Ánimo desde españa!!
The only glaring mistake I saw was “Fiery Tempest”. Should it be “Blazing Tempest?” That’s what it was for Lloyd in DotNW…
I haven’t gotten that far in ToS:KoR since I wasn’t enjoying it much. Are you sure the names were written the same way in Japanese? I suppose I’ll look into it later.
lol @ “AKA Tasty Tasty” xD
keep up the good work guys
Wow, that’s just TOO awesome! Every second is a minute while I wait this to come out ^^ Cheers from Brazil o/
Hey guys, you are amazing!
I could never thought that people can change the engine of a game, adding options! I guess, this is a really professional translation!
Thanks for what you are doing for us!
This is awesome! I noticed that on the items page (right side), there was a list of #s (ie. 99, 94) and I was wondering that they are. Is the name/term for what those #s meant listed in the game/patch?
Epicness in a bottle
IIRC it’s the same move (Kaen Rekkuu), first introduced in ToS PS2.
But chottomatte, Ruca has Ekusupuro-do? Sore is chou kakkoii — ore didn’t kidzuku that kare had majutsus.
I suppose I’ll change it then. Everyone in Innocence has at least a spell or two. Also, bonus points for usage of dzu.
Prioritize HP
Prioritize Physical Attacks
Prioritize Magic Attacks
Might be a good way to divy up strategy.
As for AKA TastyTasty, why isn’t that Parfait? Or Ice Cream Parfait? Just an in-joke I’m missing?
Rather than Friends Forever, Best Friend might be better. Alternatively, Brother-In-Arms or Sister-In-Arms might be better.
Also, rather than P.Defense and M.Defense you might just try Defense and Resist.
>< Yay! An update! You all are so cool! XD Thanks for translating TOI! You’re an inspiration!
@talbain:
AKA TastyTasty’s name is explained when you obtain the recipe. That name wasn’t me getting really creative, it was just me translating.
Best Friend is already taken. Also, they have to be gender neutral since the game uses the same ones for everyone.
I’m not sure about Defense and Resist. I’ll have to think about it.
erm the gummies, i think its best you write how much health they restore.
30%, 50% and 75%[or 70, i forgot which]
i mean the gel >.< sorry
So, have you come to an official decision on the main character’s name, or is it still a placeholder?
This isn’t meant to rush you or anything, I’m just fascinated by all the thought you put into it.
Unless some earth-shattering evidence to the contrary comes along, I intend to use Luca.
So there is no definite schedule of the release?
Just wondering with the choice of Romanized, grave will be glaive and Stalagmite will be rocku break, right?
Glaive and Rock Break. I’m willing to excuse occasional Engrish with the Romanized option, but Katakana Engrish will not be forgiven.
BTW I got a question: Will you sub the opening song? I can give you the lyrics. I know the lyrics by heart.
@DuskShark: Please not: I prefer an uncut opening. In all the other Japanese games released in USA/Europe which uses the original opening no subs were added as well.
If you know the lyrics yourself, then that’s enough isn’t it?
I’m not following the news often, so what was the reason you’re using “Luca” now? And are there any other names which are different from the japanese Innocence website?
Also, why “Glaive”? Wouldn’t “Gureibu” be “Grave”?
